Sessions
Prepare and share a live event, then open and close audience participation.
Use a Session to give your audience one link for a live event. Create it before you begin, share the link, then open it when you want people to take part.
Run a Session
- On the host dashboard, select Create a session, enter a clear title and optional description, then select Create session.
- Under Participant invitation, select Copy URL and send the link to your audience. They do not need an account to open it.
- Select Open session when you are ready to begin.
- Run the activities you have planned for the event.
- Return to the Session page and select Close session when participation ends. Open it again if the event continues later.
Before, during, and after the event
Before you open the Session, people who follow the link see that the event has not started. You can still update the title or description, and the link stays the same.
When the Session is open, people can take part in the activities for the event. Only one Session can be open in a workspace at a time, so close the current event before opening another.
When you close the Session, people see that the event has ended and can no longer take part. You can reopen it later if the event continues.
If something needs changing
You can update the title or description without sending a new link. If Greenhouse will not open or reopen a Session, check whether another Session in the workspace is already open.
Discard a Session only before it starts or after it closes. You cannot undo it.
